EPEC3 : Test loop for qualification of safety pumps and valves
The EPEC3 test loop was designed by EDF and AREVA NP to test backup installations for nuclear power plants under accident situations (APRP / AG or LOCA / SEVERE ACCIDENT). Installed in 2012 on our premises, all safety devices can be tested: pumps, valves, flap valves, etc.. It is able to reproduce the nominal conditions of pressure, temperature and flowrates, thermal shock, debris-loaded water and low NPSH.
