SUBSONIC
SUBSONIC : High-speed air-flow wind tunnel
As part of a collaborative project, CERG has increased its research capacity in the air field and more specifically in compressible flows. A new wind tunnel was therefore launched in 2011, on a temporary basis, and then from 2014 was integrated into HALL3 of the laboratory.
This facility enables pressure and total temperature (static and dynamic) measurements to be taken in order to characterize the various components used in aircraft engines. The testing resource can also be used to measure load losses, transparency, coefficient of recovery and flow coefficient at rates close to 1 kg/s, which is not negligible. The facility is also equipped with a robot to perform pitch and side slide during the test. It can also be used to measure the induced stress on a structure.
